Hope your all keeping well !!!
Just an update of my latest shoot !
This was another fully self directed Photo shoot!!
It was a shoot that I really wanted to do but was yet so worried about !!
I love alternative style. The people who take that indie /character styling to a whole new level!
The people who love to stand out for all the right reasons.
I personally wouldn't be daring enough to wear this style on a daily basis ha !
I finally got the chance to let my imagination run wild with this idea ,
I personally don't like outdoor shoots and rather minimal backgrounds the styling and lighting tho do all the talking.
I personally think this my favorite shoot to date , mainly because I got someone to pull off the looks that I find interesting.
Some people may not like it , But I do , ha
A HUGEEEEE  thank you has to go to a few people.

Eoin Murphy the model it was his first ever all day studio shoot , and he completely rocked it , we were all so delighted to work with him , He is currently unsigned so he is available for work .

Theres a Fabulous store in rathmines called Green With Envy  an Amazing treasure trove of fabulous vintage furs and clothes. Id advise anyone looking for that special one off vintage piece, have a pit stop there, If you cant get something you can always have a chat with the charismatic owner  Margaret , such a lovely and  interesting woman! As this is where I got some of the clothes from.

Another shout out that  have the pleasure of giving , is that of the tshirt company , Plain White Tshite!!
They are so much fun and Im in love with there Tshirts , SO excited to see there new range coming out next week based on Nerd Core , I got the inside view ..... Only because I was asked to model for there new campaign , and I can tell use this ITS SO NERD CORE :)

Turn Rebbeca Into A Boy ..This Month In Shoots !!

Hey folks !!

So yet again this is another shoot , :)
This time it was with Rebecca Dolan !
A girl that I scouted when I used to work for an agency!!
We actually done her first ever shoot when she joined the agency .
We saw alot of potential in her , So when she contacted us when she left the agency because she wanted new representation, she asked would we do a shoot with her.
Of course we obliged :)
AS she recently got onto Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model and got through to the point of meeting the judges !!
so with all this new experience we were looking forward to shooting her!

The plan for the shoot , ''Turn Rebecca Into A Boy'' 
well not exactly I love the theme Androgyny
So I decided I wanted to do a more masculine theme, sexy masculine!
I love her face so i knew she could pull it off
She pulled it out of the bag!!!
we done a soft look to start then turned it right around to more edgy!

This Month In Shoots !!

Hey Folks !!!

The last two weeks have been absolutely hectic with shoots!
We just havent stopped.
I say we and I mean myself and Expressive Photography and make up artist Leah Murphy
and Katy Quinlan assisting
We have had 4 shoots in 2 weeks!
Some people may not think this is alot but when you think of the preparation and  post work of a shoot its alot .WELL to me it is anyway !! ha
Day before the shoot: Go pull looks , then do inventory of what you have going on the day.
Day of shoot : Style the shoot and do hair !!well that's quite self explanatory ha.
Day after shoot: Morning leave all clothes back to the different stores.
so having 2 between Monday and Friday was good bit of work ,
Always fun though :S ha
The first shoot was with a girl who wanted just photos for her self , was a great wee shoot , alot different then usual because we didn't have to try and get the best out of the model trying to compete with industry standards
Unfortunately I cant post these photos as they where for clients use only!!


Next was a girl called Niamh Cunningham , she was from Crossmaglen and traveled up because she wanted a portfolio shoot with Expressive Photography after seeing the shots we done for Niamh Mc Keever
It was a great evening of shooting as the banter was brilliant and we all shared alot of laughs
We also had another recruit on shoot ,Danielle Lynch a  photographer bassed in newry, who came along to get the expereience of a fashion shoot .she brought buns she was very loved , ha

SO folks , I'd say you's are all wondering where I got that AMAZING blue and silver diamante dress
I got it in the amazing store that is Lara Boutique Dublin 
Its a Jovani dress , Lara's one of the only boutiques that sell these show stopping dresses in Ireland. 
Girls If yous havent been there before , get down there asap!!!!
Especially if your looking a debs/formal dress.
I popped in and yet they never fail to provide me with STUNNING dresses for shoots.
The staff are so helpful and friendly and go out of your way to help.
Loved Lara Caseys shoes when I was in , Strutting around in her gorgeous Terry de Havilland heels, Looking fabulous of course !!
she then told me that they are available in the store.
Between Lara and the Amazing Ciara o Connor you couldn't get better service.

My Best Friend Is Miss Ireland!!!

hey folks!!!
Firstly I want to thank everyone for reading my blog .
I just realized you can see how many people viewed your blog in stats.
500 views with only 2 posts. I'm delighted. Wasn't expecting that whatsoever!!
ANYWAY !!!
Yes believe it or not ! My best friend is Holly Carpenter, Miss Ireland 2011
So this isnt just a post about how she won and how amazing she is!
Its just about how I viewed it all.

It all started when I started in NCAD last year,
Out in the Red Square . The day after the Freshers Ball. We randomly started talking about the Ball and she started talking about this crazy drunken boy she loved that was dressed up as candyfloss who was obviously in fashion and told her his costume was better then hers !!(she was also dressed as candy floss) I told her that was me !!
She didn't believe me till I showed her a photo on my phone ,
I told her that her hair was green and ever since we have been best friends ha.
We share the same sense of humor so we never seem to fight
Because we just laugh at each other.
I couldn't ask for a better friend.

SOOOO..... As we became closer as friends we started talking about the Miss University Pageant and That I thought she should represent Miss Ncad .
Next thing we knew she was in the final in Dandelion.
I was thrilled for her . But of course the next thing was what was she gonna wear ? (we all know this is the first thing that passes through our heads :S ha,)
She knew that I just got a job as a stylist for some shoots and was so happy for me so she asked me would I help her out for the competition ,
I was thrilled !!!
We worked on her bikini that she made her self , I fitted it on her and told her how to sew it and she done the rest , I was actually so proud of her as sad as it sounds ! she is truly talented when it comes to textiles.
We organized her ''going out look'' personally I didnt want the tacky lipsy dress look.
So we went with a pair of daisy duke shorts, black vest top, flowey turquoise green open blouse with magpie print.
Paired off with leather clog heels with faux fur around the tops , after all she would have to be alternative shes in NCAD!! :)
Her dress was from Lara a fabulous boutique owned by Lara Casey ,
The staff were lovely in it also especially Ciara o Connor the store manager.
We went in a day after college the store was manic with girls getting dresses for Miss University.
We tried on a few and they weren't really what we were looking for .
But I had my eye on a dress that was already in another changing room , once the girl left I swiped the dress and Holly then wore it for the competition.
I was known as the stage mom lol , well that's what I was called, a pushy stage mom !! (of course i loved it )

As we already know she went on to take the title that night!!
She had alot of support that night we were front row with a giant banner saying go holly
(I still have a scar where derv, our friend, stabbed me with it when holly won )

That was it she now had to go for Miss Ireland!!!!
The preparations started within the next couple of weeks,
But you have to remember we had end of year consolidation project to do.
This was to determine if we got into the next year or not.
It was so much work and alot of stress!
Tbh I really don't know how she handled it. Working, Modeling, Uni work and then preparing for Miss Ireland and also trying to fit in a social life.
I honestly think this is when we REALLY became best friends we understood that both of us had such busy lives , I was in uni , had 3 jobs and a full time sport.
During the summer I styled her for numerous event and done her hair (like she even needed my help)
But as time went on before we even realized it was July and Miss Ireland was a month away 
This far off distant thing that we kept thinking it was ages away!!
Then the Miss Ireland press calls started and I knew it was the start of something big.
In my opinion it was her modeling experience that gave her the edge!

In my eyes she shone beyond the rest but that's a bias opinion ha
from meeting the girls and seeing the shots my favorites apart from Holly where Jessica Langan , Rebbeca Maher , Annemarie Elliot , Aishing Alcock, Rebbeca Maguire(my on the night favorite ) and Faye Rooney
I was so shocked that Jessica Langan didn't get into top 7 .
I think she has a future ahead of her shes stunning with an amazing personality. 
But at least 3 of my favorites were in the top 3 :)

I was honored at the fact that I got to come and help choose her evening gown from Lara on Dame Lane in Dublin City Center
The shop was redecorated since the last time id visited it and it looks amazing with some stunning new stock in.
They have such a lovely array of Jovani dresses.
Which was the designer of the dress holly wore.
She looked breath taking in it

SO the night finally came !!
my nerves were shot ,
I got ready in Kate mc Cormacks house our mutual bestie ha, both of us were a nervous wreck ha  
I didnt get to see Holly for 4 days before the competition (which near killed me ha )
So when I saw her in her sash and her cocktail dress I was rather emotional ha (there was no tears but,...Ya know) you wish your friends the best in life and hope they always do well so to see her looking sensational and knowing how hard she actually worked for this and how driven, professional and determined she was the whole summer, knowing it all paid off was an amazing feeling.

      ''THE 3 BEST FRIENDS THAT ANYONE COULD HAVE ''


The night was amazing the show was organized by Brendan Scully and Sean Montague an absloutley amazing show i really couldn't fault the night whatsoever.
Also got talking to them the next day such funny and nice guys .
So obviously holly got the whole way through to the top 7.
At this stage I was shaking with nerves and excitement.
I saw holly smile at me and I knew she was delighted that she got that far.
So after the grueling interview stage 
they took a break then decided to announce the top 3.
Nerves had taken over I was like a shaking mess ,
They called the 1st runner up Ashling Alcock. I was delighted for her shes stunning and seems to have a lovely heart.
They called runner up : Rebbeca Maguire , she was my on the night favorite I thought she was stunning.
Finally winner Holly Carpenter,

We where all delighted at the table, everyone was either screaming or crying with happiness , not gonna lie I was a little bit of both ha ,

The night went on and we ended up in Buck Whaleys
Little to packed Tbh, but it was an after party

Then we all went home and drank tea and chated about corrie ...aye right !!!!

But I have to say I don't know of anyone who worked as hard and deserved something so much so I'm delighted to say that shes the new Miss Ireland 2011.
NOT delighted when she woke me up the next day to do her hair for a press call but I suppose that's the life of a stage mom ..

Hauntingly Beautiful !!

hey folks !!
So im excited to reveal the last of the edited shots from my latest shoot with Expressive Photos.
This time I really wanted to push myself and personally I think Ive done this.
In fairness this is my first ever fully self directed shoot.
From hair to clothes to make up.
I chose the looks and ideas ALSO DONE THE HAIR !!!,
The amazing Leah Murphy done the makeup
I really couldn't complain about anything on this shoot ,
Jay from expressive photography yet again was amazing to work with always getting those amazing shots and the fact that his studio is in a private castle even makes it all that much better!! ha.
I had the amazing pleasure working with Niamh Mc Keever , an Irish Model ,who is looking for new representation.
Ive known Niamh since secondary school and Ive always wanted to do a shoot with her.
She really is a hidden talent , so professional and just banged out shot after shot. n
Nearly every shot was usuable so it was hard to pick top 20 !!

The theme of the shoot.... I honestly haven't a notion but if i had to!!!
I would say I wanted a hauntingly beautiful look with a vintage high fashion approach .
I just was researching ideas , and putting ideas together and adapted my ideas from that.
I find it easier to base the shoot around looking at the clothes and seeing what would work!!
Its a weird feeling.
Ill just go into the shops and just start picking up things!
Then my whole train of thought will come together.
In fairness I will start the day with a general idea of what I want
But I always work around what I have and Im a firm believer of altering clothes and customizing them.
 If you see an item you like because of one or two aspects but its the wrong shape or size, especially if your working with vintage clothes then customize and alter it to your shape!
With the last dress in the corn field , I turned that back to front pinned it all up and changed the neckline
It turned into such a interesting dress
It was a size 16 the model was a size 8 .. be creative , this goes to everyone learn to alter your clothes to fit your shape don't dump something cause it doesn't fit properly not everone is the block size 8 10 12 14 etc , be creative! Makes you more Interesting ! lol

I hope you like the images , lots of criticism and comments would be nice , Im only starting in this crazy world that is fashoooooon styling . so lots of help along the way would be amazing thanks :D

LOTS of exciting new stuff happening and in the pipe line!!!!!!
Made Holly Carpenter a remake of the Gucci skirt Rosie Huntington Whiteley wore. it turned out quite well and of course holly rocked it out with those legs!!!! wow .
Lots of new projects coming up working with the SENSATIONAL Fionnuala Bourke, were literally doing something that's NEVER  been done before , to excited seriously eakkkkkkkkk :D

Blast From The Past !!

hey everyone !!
Hope all is well with everyone ?
Thanks to everyone for all the lovely responses  to me setting up a blog .
To Jess Hefferman, she knows why ha .
Now , This is just a blast from the past.
Its from shoots ive been doing up to date for an agency i used to work for called SoManagement Agency ,
Which im still a stylist for !! I am bookable lol
I met with expressive photography through this agency and the rest is history.
I know work with expressive photography on a ongoing basis, which I love <3, because there driven, hard working and not full of fluff ,straight talking and to the point.
We have a lot of exciting stuff coming up so keep tuned ha
Now the following few things are from shoots I done from the past some are pretty cool, and some are well very weak but we all have to start somewhere ,,Dont we??

This shoot was so random , i went along with holly because i was stayling in her house that night , and then i ended up doing the hair for the shoot and help direct the lighting and model

                                                    NCAD DEGREE SHOW MAGAZINE
 This was a shoot for Rebbeca Matthew's degree show magazine, I dunno how we ended up doing this , it was the day me and holly both handed up our end of year consolidation work we were both EXHAUSTED ..I look like shit..she looks amazing as always ,
The theme of the shoot was based around Holly's consolidation work and the fact she won Miss NCAD then won Miss University Ireland and is now going to win Miss Ireland , :D fingers crossed lol
I done the hair for this shoot and help direct it.
The clothes is all styled by holly and of course her make up as well.

                                  Rebbecca Dolans Portfolio Shoot with Expressive Photography


This shoot was sort of a themed shoot vintage appeal. Back then it was all very unorganized due to bad management skills by the organizer .I cant take full credit for the styling in this shoot as i wasnt able to attend the clothe lift day , I cant exactly remember why ha, anyway Karla Wheelan  picked up the clothes and on the day we choose the looks together and I put the looks together ,and helped with the hair styling and the makeup. but i full directed the shoot, helping the model with poses and helping her work out her light etc as it was her very first shoot, and since i spotted this girl for the agency i worked in.I <3 her ,shoot again soon with her..
I loved this shoot even though it was such a long day it gave me hope for styling and working in the industry .
I did do 2 shoots prior to this but the photos are to weak to show in my opinion , But I think it was more the fact it was the models starting out and for one shoot i was so hungover i couldnt focus ,So you live and learn never go out the night before a shoot ...BIG MISSTAKE!!!!!!! LOL ,

Any way thats it guys , thats been my start in the world of styling my first few photo shoots of me being involved , next is a blog entry of my latest photo shoot thats COMPLETELY styled in every way by me :D yeahhhhhh , except i didnt take the pics ..or apply the makeup lol that was done by to other amazing people
